The premise for this interactive Showcase is the intertwinement of the skills of crafting a delicious cocktail, with the creativity, and energy of a live karaoke performance.
Team Captains must submit name of Team, song selection and team roster to be eligible to perform in the Showcase.
Each Team must consist of 2-5 people. Every Team must have at least two(2) people performing the act of cocktail making on stage, and at least two(2) people performing the song of choice.
Each Team member should have their own role in the group, e.g. Hype man, Harmony, Ice Monk, Garnish Technician, Air guitarist, etc.
Costumes are encouraged!
The sequence of the Showcase shall be decided by the event organizers.
Songs length is limited to 5 minutes (songs with a duration longer than 5 minutes will be cut off at the five minute mark).
Songs must be submitted by 12:05 am EST and may not be changed after the deadline. Please submit this to email@example.com.
The panel of experts frown upon group-e-ok-ee: take some time and prepare a routine instead of all singing the same thing at the same time.
The cocktail must be paired with a song of choice and will be critiqued based on cohesion. Feel free to go beyond a Tequiña Colada along with Islands in the Stream, but you get the idea.
Recipes must be submitted by the registration due date.
Teams will be required to make 3 portions of the same cocktail during the performance.
The cocktail MUST CONTAIN AT LEAST 1.5oz Roca Patrón Tequila (Silver, Reposado and/or Añejo).
Teams will be responsible for procuring and providing any ingredients (alcoholic or otherwise) that are not in The Patrón Spirits Company Portfolio. Fresh squeezed lemon, lime and grapefruit juices as well as 1:1 simple syrup will be provided.
Teams are required to bring all of their own tools and glassware for this event. OFFSITE, Patrón, and the venue are not responsible for lost or stolen tools/glassware.
There is no maximum to the number of ingredients allowed; drinks should be designed to be delicious and balanced.
Ingredients may be measured with a measuring cup or jigger; alternatively, performers may choose to free pour.
Teams are not allowed to change their recipe or cocktail during the course of the Showcase. At the Showcase, Teams must present the recipes as they were written and submitted to the best of their ability.
Any adjustment or alteration of submitted recipes must be approved by the Showcase organizers a minimum of 48 hours before the start of the Showcase.
Teams will be viewed and critiqued in the following categories:
- Song-to-Cocktail Pairing
- Team Cohesion
- Showmanship/Crowd Engagement
- Artistic Merit in the Field of Karaoke Performance
- Taste, Aroma and Balance of Cocktail
- Artistic Merit in the Field of Cocktail Performance
In the unlikely case that the critics find the performances of two Teams of equal merit, noth will be tasked with creating a classic tequila cocktail to a song of the expert’s picking from a catalogue of popular karaoke songs.
The Team with the performance determined to be of the most merit by the panel of critics, will get the chance to strut their stuff one more time in the victory lap. Teams will be required to submit Victory Lap songs as part of their registration. Any adjustments to Victory Lap songs must be approved by the Showcase organizers a minimum of 48 hours before the start of the Showcase.
