Catering and Private Events Manager
This is a full-time position working in our Somerville, MA offices.
OFFSITE is hiring a catering and events manager. OFFSITE is an events agency specializing in cocktails, spirits, and bartender education. Our catering specializes in creating craft cocktails at events, where we value delicious drinks that look pretty and are served quickly. We aim to create cocktail experiences at events that mimic your favorite cocktail bars. Our offices are located in Somerville, MA, and we run events in the greater Boston area. As a small company, we continue to strive for excellent in all areas, and each team member is cross-trained for catering and marketing events. As Catering Manager, we’ll be looking for someone who can help manage our events and grow the catering business we have in Massachusetts. You’ll be expected to manage a catering staff while on-site at events, but be a self starter in the office.
Job Responsibilities Include
Coordinating with catering clients to understand events and send out proposals, contracts and deposits.
Working with venues and vendors to ensure a successful and smooth event process for both the client and the OFFSITE team from start to finish including: contracting, proof of insurance, delivery, day-of coordination, check-in, execution, load out and payment.
Work with clients to design the look/feel of events, and coordinate rentals, artists and/or vendors to make the vision come to life.
Working with a bar manager to create a cocktail list and prepare orders, staffing and rentals appropriate for the service.
Hiring and managing the event’s staff.
Being on-site for the event including setup and breakdown.
Doing outreach to new clients and venues to promote OFFSITE and build the network.
Maintaining a clean workspace and kitchen at all times.
Updating spreadsheets and keeping in communication with bar managers, and OFFSITE staff.
2-3 y2-3 years of experience running events, especially from the restaurant/bar or hotel side.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
Strong organizational skills are a must, both with online files and physical objects.
Ability to work within Google Docs and spreadsheets.

Ability to lift and carry 50lbs.
Ability to kneel, stoop and bend.
A strong understanding of the hospitality industry, and cocktail making is required.
This position requires a self-starter, candidates should enjoy managing their own time, but appreciate working as part of a team.
Although many of our events are during the week, occasional evening and weekend availability is a must.
This job is full time, with at least 40 hours per week.
BCBSMA health and dental insurance is offered, with 50% employer contributions.
2 weeks paid vacation, in addition to holidays and additional time off based on weekend events approved on a case by case basis.
Monthly stipend for cell phone usage.
